Armour is made to protect people from harm, but no armour can completely prevent death in war. Do you think it is realistic to expect there to be no loss of life in battle?

Some of the works you see here are paintings which commemorate or record battles or military campaigns and are created with a particular agenda in mind. Think about modern day conflict and how it is recorded. Is it possible to present a particular view when television is so immediate and reporters often seem to be in the thick of battle?

 

Your Task

Research a conflict which is happening in the world today and write a newspaper report on it (around 500 words in length). Post up your report to this website and invite comments from others. Do they think you have shown a particular point of view? If so, do they agree with it?
